CaliforniaLawyerConnect.com (the “Site”) known as California Lawyer Connect (“California Lawyer Connect,” “CLC,” “Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site.

By accessing, browsing, submitting information through, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Site.


1. Nature of the Site

California Lawyer Connect is not a law firm and is not a lawyer referral service.

The Site operates solely as an intake, communication, and inquiry transmission platform. The Site allows users to submit information regarding a potential legal matter so that such information may be transmitted to one or more independent attorneys or law firms for possible communication.

California Lawyer Connect does not:

  • Provide legal advice;
  • Review, evaluate, or validate legal claims;
  • Recommend attorneys;
  • Rank attorneys;
  • Rate attorneys;
  • Determine whether any attorney is appropriate for any matter;
  • Guarantee communication, representation, or legal outcomes.

Any attorney or law firm that may receive information through the Site acts independently and is solely responsible for determining whether to communicate with a user or accept representation.


2. Intake-Only Function

The Site provides a mechanism through which users may submit inquiries and related information regarding a potential legal matter.

Information submitted through the Site may be transmitted to one or more independent attorneys or law firms for possible communication.

California Lawyer Connect does not:

  • Select attorneys for users;
  • Assign attorneys to users;
  • Match users with attorneys;
  • Recommend attorneys based on legal analysis;
  • Determine legal strategy;
  • Predict legal outcomes;
  • Guarantee that any attorney will respond to an inquiry.

Any attorney or law firm independently determines whether to review, respond to, or communicate regarding any inquiry.


3. No Lawyer Referral Service

California Lawyer Connect is not a lawyer referral service.

California Lawyer Connect does not:

  • Operate a referral panel;
  • Evaluate legal needs for referral purposes;
  • Recommend specific attorneys;
  • Rank attorneys;
  • Compare attorneys;
  • Endorse attorneys;
  • Determine attorney suitability;
  • Select attorneys based on legal analysis or likelihood of success.

Any potential communication between a user and an attorney or law firm results solely from the transmission of user-submitted inquiries and information.


4. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Use of the Site, including submission of information through the Site, does not create an attorney-client relationship between:

  • A user and California Lawyer Connect;
  • A user and any attorney or law firm.

An attorney-client relationship may only be established through a separate written agreement directly between a user and an attorney or law firm.

Users should not rely on the Site as a substitute for directly contacting an attorney regarding urgent or time-sensitive legal matters.


5. No Legal Advice

The Site does not provide legal advice.

Any information displayed on the Site is provided for general informational and marketing purposes only and should not be relied upon as legal advice, legal analysis, or legal strategy.

Users should consult directly with a licensed attorney regarding their specific legal situation.


6. Transmission of Information

By submitting information through the Site, users authorize California Lawyer Connect to transmit submitted inquiries and related information to one or more independent attorneys or law firms for possible communication.

No attorney or law firm has any obligation to:

  • Review an inquiry;
  • Respond to an inquiry;
  • Communicate with a user;
  • Accept representation;
  • Provide legal services.

Submission of information through the Site does not guarantee:

  • Communication from an attorney;
  • Legal representation;
  • Acceptance of a matter;
  • Evaluation of a claim;
  • Any legal outcome.

7. Independent Attorneys and Law Firms

Any attorney or law firm that may receive information through the Site acts independently.

California Lawyer Connect does not:

  • Control attorney communications;
  • Control attorney decision-making;
  • Supervise legal services;
  • Direct legal strategy;
  • Influence case evaluation;
  • Influence whether representation is offered.

Any attorney or law firm is solely responsible for:

  • Legal services;
  • Attorney communications;
  • Attorney-client relationships;
  • Fee agreements;
  • Professional obligations;
  • Compliance with applicable laws and professional rules.

8. No Endorsement or Recommendation

California Lawyer Connect does not endorse, recommend, compare, rank, or rate attorneys or law firms.

California Lawyer Connect does not represent that any attorney or law firm is:

  • Best;
  • Most qualified;
  • Most experienced;
  • A specialist;
  • Most appropriate for a matter;
  • Likely to achieve a favorable outcome.

Users are solely responsible for determining whether to communicate with, hire, or retain any attorney or law firm.


9. Attorney or Law Firm Compensation

Attorneys or law firms may compensate California Lawyer Connect in connection with inquiries or leads transmitted through the Site.

Such compensation does not constitute:

  • A recommendation;
  • An endorsement;
  • A ranking;
  • A rating;
  • A referral;
  • A representation regarding attorney quality or suitability.

California Lawyer Connect does not accept compensation in exchange for legal advice, legal analysis, attorney rankings, attorney recommendations, or attorney selection.


10. User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for:

  • Deciding whether to submit information through the Site;
  • Deciding whether to communicate with any attorney or law firm;
  • Evaluating any attorney or law firm;
  • Verifying attorney qualifications or licensing;
  • Deciding whether to retain legal counsel;
  • Protecting legal rights, deadlines, and claims.

Users should independently investigate any attorney or law firm before entering into an attorney-client relationship.


11. No Confidentiality Before Attorney-Client Relationship

Information submitted through the Site may not be confidential or privileged.

Users should not submit highly sensitive, privileged, confidential, or time-sensitive information through the Site.

Information submitted prior to the formation of an attorney-client relationship may not be protected by attorney-client privilege or duties of confidentiality.

Receipt of information through the Site does not create any duty of confidentiality, loyalty, care, or representation unless and until a formal attorney-client relationship is established directly between a user and an attorney or law firm.


12. Conflicts of Interest

Attorneys or law firms that receive information through the Site may currently represent, or may later represent, parties with interests adverse to a user.

Submission of information through the Site does not prevent any attorney or law firm from representing another party unless and until a formal attorney-client relationship is established.

Attorneys and law firms are solely responsible for conducting their own conflicts checks.


13. Communication Consent

By submitting information through the Site, users expressly consent to being contacted by California Lawyer Connect and/or independent attorneys or law firms regarding their inquiry.

Communications may occur through:

  • Phone call;
  • Text message;
  • Email;
  • Voicemail;
  • Automated dialing technology, where permitted by law;
  • Prerecorded messages, where permitted by law;
  • Other communication methods.

Consent to communications is not a condition of obtaining legal representation or purchasing any service.

Message and data rates may apply.

Users may opt out of text communications by replying “STOP” where applicable or by following unsubscribe instructions provided in communications.


14. Accuracy of User Information

Users agree that information submitted through the Site will be accurate, truthful, and submitted by the user or with proper authorization.

Users agree not to submit:

  • False information;
  • Misleading information;
  • Information submitted without authorization;
  • Unlawful content;
  • Spam;
  • Abusive content;
  • Content that infringes the rights of another person.

California Lawyer Connect is not responsible for verifying the accuracy or completeness of submitted information.


15. Prohibited Uses

Users agree not to use the Site to:

  • Violate laws or regulations;
  • Submit fraudulent or misleading information;
  • Interfere with Site operation or security;
  • Scrape, copy, harvest, or extract Site data without authorization;
  • Upload malware or harmful code;
  • Impersonate another person;
  • Abuse communication systems or Site functionality.

California Lawyer Connect may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Site at any time for suspected misuse.


16. Intellectual Property

The Site and its content, including text, graphics, branding, logos, layouts, forms, software, images, and design elements, are owned by or licensed to California Lawyer Connect unless otherwise stated.

Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, scrape, modify, or exploit Site content without prior written permission.


17. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services.

California Lawyer Connect is not responsible for the content, conduct, privacy practices, security, or terms of any third-party website or service.

Use of third-party websites or services is at the user’s own risk.


18. Privacy Policy

Use of the Site is also governed by the Privacy Policy.

By using the Site, users agree to the Privacy Policy.


19. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, California Lawyer Connect disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties regarding:

  • Accuracy;
  • Reliability;
  • Availability;
  • Security;
  • Fitness for a particular purpose;
  • Non-infringement;
  • Uninterrupted operation.

California Lawyer Connect does not guarantee that the Site will always be available, secure, error-free, or free from harmful components.


20. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, California Lawyer Connect, and their owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, vendors, and representatives shall not be liable for damages arising out of or related to:

  • Use of the Site;
  • Inability to use the Site;
  • Submission of information;
  • Transmission of information;
  • Communications or lack of communications from attorneys or law firms;
  • Decisions by attorneys or law firms regarding representation;
  • Legal services provided by attorneys or law firms;
  • Third-party websites or services;
  • Errors, interruptions, delays, or security issues.

This limitation applies to all forms of damages, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost-profit damages.


21. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless California Lawyer Connect, and their owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, vendors, and representatives from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to:

  • Use of the Site;
  • Submission of information;
  • Violation of these Terms;
  • Violation of laws or regulations;
  • Violation of another person’s rights;
  • False, misleading, unauthorized, or unlawful information submitted through the Site.

22. Changes to the Site or Terms

California Lawyer Connect may modify, suspend, discontinue, or update the Site or these Terms at any time.

Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Site after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.


23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.


24. Venue

To the extent any dispute proceeds in court, users agree that such dispute shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, unless otherwise required by law.


25. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.


26. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional Site policies, constitute the entire agreement regarding use of the Site.
